Simplicity. Quality. Authenticity.
Here at Il Tavolino, we want to bring you more than a taste of Italy, we want to bring you a piece of Italian culture. Many cafés serve Italian-like sandwiches or coffee, but the Italian influence stops there. Il Tavolino makes you feel like you’ve been transported to a Florentine café, from the way you are served, to the quality of the products, to the feel of the space. Come sit at a tavolino and enjoy a trip to Italia!
About the Table
Il Tavolino is Italian for “The Little Table”
Imagine walking down the streets of an Italian city. Cafés, osterias, trattorias, ristorantes… they all line the sidewalks with tavolini – small tables. Beautiful round bistro tables contour the winding streets, filled with people sharing an espresso, a meal, or a little slice of their life. These little tables are where people gather to share in life. Where they meet to laugh. Where they meet to eat. At Il Tavolino, we want to share with you, the Italian way. Come enjoy a quick (but certainly delicious) panino, or stay a while with a cappuccino. Oh, and never say ‘Ciao’ without having first tried some gelato!
Panini, Lasagna, Meatballs
We passionately believe in doing a few things really well. While we might have a limited menu here at Il Tavolino, we do each item very well. If you’re looking for a quick bite for lunch, drop by for a freshly made panino or piece of lasagna. Better yet, bring a family size lasagna or meatballs and sauce home with you!
Using only the highest quality ingredients, we feel there is no need to complicate the sacred recipes. We guarantee an authentic, fresh, high quality meal, every time.
Need a break from the daily grind? Who doesn’t?… come by and enjoy an espresso. We pride ourselves in the authenticity of our coffee. It may be simple, but it is quality you can taste.
There is only one way to make good gelato. Like the Italians. It begins by using only the best ingredients. Using Italian made gelato machines, we make our own gelato in house. Using locally sourced products as well as Italian imports, you’re sure to enjoy a refreshing gelato here, any time of day! You can even bring it home in our convenient take-out containers.
Alessandro and his young family spent a year in Florence, Italy. There he honed his culinary skills at the Cordon Bleu.
In addition, he spent time learning the art of making gelato, the Italian way!
Born in Montreal, Alessandro’s Italian heritage and zest for life is infused into every aspect of Il Tavolino. His wife and business partner, Sarah lent her keen eye for design to the bistro. You’ll feel it when you walk through the doors!
